Privacy Policy

Effective date: 22 June 2026 · Last updated: 22 June 2026

The short version: InventoryCount Pro is offline-first. Your products, stock counts and reports are stored on your device. We don't run accounts, we don't have analytics servers, and we don't sell your data. The only data that leaves your device is what Google handles for in-app purchases and, if you enable it, Android's own backup of your app data.

1. Who we are

InventoryCount Pro ("the app", "we", "us") is an inventory count, stock count and stocktaking application for Android, published by OSSYS. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app does and does not collect, and how it is handled. It applies to the InventoryCount Pro Android app (package com.ossys.inventorycountpro).

2. Information you create in the app

You enter business data such as products, categories, suppliers, locations, quantities, stock-count sessions and notes. This information is stored locally on your device in the app's private database. It is not transmitted to us and we have no access to it.

3. Information we do not collect

  • We do not require you to create an account or provide your name, email or phone number to use the app.
  • We do not operate analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs that profile you.
  • We do not collect your location.
  • We do not access, upload or store your inventory data on our servers — we don't run any.

4. Device permissions

The app requests only the permissions it needs to function. You can revoke these at any time in your device settings.

PermissionWhy it's used
CameraTo scan product barcodes and QR codes during a stock count. Camera frames are processed on-device for scanning and are not stored or transmitted.
Biometric / device credentialOptional app lock. Authentication is handled entirely by Android; the app never sees your fingerprint, face or PIN.
NotificationsTo show local reminders and count-related alerts. These are generated on your device.
VibrationHaptic feedback, e.g. confirming a successful scan.
InternetRequired by Google Play Billing to process in-app purchases. The app itself does not send your inventory data over the internet.

5. In-app purchases

The Pro unlock is sold through Google Play Billing. When you make a purchase, Google processes the transaction and your payment details — we never receive or store your payment card information. The app receives only a purchase/entitlement token from Google so it can unlock Pro features. Your use of Google Play is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Smart assistant & insights

The in-app assistant, forecasts and insight scores are computed on your device from your local data. No inventory data is sent to any AI service or external server.

7. Backups

Android may include the app's data in your device's automatic backup to your personal Google account (Android Auto Backup), depending on your system settings. These backups are controlled by you and Google, not by us, and are governed by Google's terms. You can disable backup for the app in your device's backup settings.

8. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your personal or business data. Any data export you perform (for example, a CSV of a stock count) is initiated and controlled by you and sent only to the destination you choose.

9. Data retention & deletion

Because your data lives on your device, you are in control of it. To delete it you can clear individual records in the app, use the app's clear-data option (where available), clear the app's storage in your device settings, or uninstall the app — which removes its local database. If you have enabled Android backups, remember to remove the backup from your Google account as well.

10. Security

App data is stored in the operating system's private storage area for the app, which other apps cannot read. You can add an extra layer of protection by enabling the optional biometric app lock. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but keeping your data on-device significantly reduces exposure.

11. Children's privacy

InventoryCount Pro is a business tool intended for use by adults. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the app or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page. Material changes may also be highlighted within the app.

13. Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, contact us at privacy@inventorycountpro.app.
